According to this online dictionary, Dystopia is "an imaginary place where everything is as bad as it can be." It seems to me that a lot of young adult books are set in a future without hope, at first. And then one young person challenges the status quo and changes that future.
What does that say about today's young people? Are they very optimistic or very pessimistic? Is our future hopeful or not?
It kind of makes you wonder.
Pkin and I are watching another coming of age (my favorite story type) dystopian pic: The Maze Runner.
