Almost all email systems let you flag your message as ultra high important, drop everything "look at me". Some people make this the default for ALL their messages, talk about the boy who cried wolf. I'm going to jump to on the email about that meeting that happens every other Monday with the same agenda as the last gazillion meetings 'cause of that big red asterisk!
When there really is an urgent need for response, those "red asterisk-ers" will be out of luck!
