I finally get Twitter and Facebook accounts and now the systems are "compromised." There's so much talk about the bad part of these networks, from identify theft to just mean people being very bad.
My Dad stays away from all things computer, but he frequently asks others to look things up for him. It's not like he's Amish or Mennonite or anything like that, he's just plain old weird. But he's never had to close a bank account because of a questionable online purchase that went amok (not me but someone I know) or had to track the Book of the Month dates closely to figure out when to cancel the subscription without penalty (me.)
I must admit that my paper and pencil skills are poorer than before the Internet. My handwriting sucks too. And I have fewer live friends now than when I was non-PC. Interesting things to think about.
