In the movie Steel Magnolias, Julia Roberts says that her colors are "bashful and plush." Both are highly similar shades of pink. I've been looking at my wardrobe of late and my signature colors would have to be Black & Blue!
I'm a Winter, according to Carole Jackson, but a dark winter. Other winters are Snow White and Linda What's-Her-Name, Wonder Woman. I look good in jewel tones, I guess it would be black diamonds for me. Today I'm wearing a deep royal blue dress with a black mid-sleeve cardigan. Both are summer/spring weight but I'm feeling very DARK. I need some sunny clothes to fake make for a sunny disposition.
Getting back to Carole, she did have some really good advice about finding your most complimentary colors. You need a white, pure white sheet or towel, or blouse. Hold the cloth at your neck as you look into a mirror, with good light of course. Then you hold the item, whatever it is, up to your face. If the color is right, your face will light up; if it's wrong, you'll be washed out, overwhelmed, or be a bright red mess (if you're me.) I need to stay around from yellow undertones; I have enough of them naturally. I could wear yellow but it would have to be the exact perfect shade. When you're my size, it's not so much finding the right color though, I have to find the size first. Ah, something else to think about.
