It's about 100 miles to San Diego from where I live. In any other part of the country this trip would take about two hours, by car or by commuter rail, but that is not the case in Southern CA. The Metrolink site tells me the trip will cost $24 to Oceanside as compared to $100 plus by car but then the site doesn't really tell me how to get from Oceanside to San Diego proper. There is a trip finder tool on the site, but it's not working and I'm supposed to check back soon. Is soon two days or two hours?
Sue is not happy. There's a big training meeting in San Diego next week and I can get in free for one day but I haven't asked permission from the Powers That Be; my stumbling block is asking for permission to do my job which is another blog entry all in itself.
