I am never going to get rich blogging ... how sad.
Bronchitis is an infection of the mucus membranes lining the lungs. Ten percent of cases are bacterial in origin, meaning antibiotics can treat, and the rest are viral. The doctor just says, Oh, you have bronchitis and gives you stuff for the cough (different day and night treatments), the mucus and the infection. The doctor does not say that this is the worst you will ever feel with the exception of death nor that you will exceed your yearly quota of tylenol in less than 10 tens.
WebMD says that you should rest but probably need not be confined to bed. I can tell you for certain -- all you want to do is nothing. You can't really sleep as the horizontal position immediately induces coughing and you can't really sleep sitting up not well any way.
I'm at work coughing in my little space, less and less each day but still ... when will it end. The first doctor said nothing about how much rest. The second doctor was more concerned about the antibiotic reaction (and he was right!) Note to self, really read all the Rx info.
