I have trouble working with women. Or so says my husband. Actually, I'll agree with that. When I reflect on my best and worst bosses and my best and worst co-workers there is a definite gender line.
Is it just me or is it women in general?
Let me share another interesting tidbit about myself. Homosexual men generally enjoy my company, and I do theirs. Generally, lesbians (do you ever say homosexual women?) find me attractive. Notice the use of the qualifier "generally." Also attractive is a very broad term.
Since the world is populated by both men and women and since I am a woman, I had better figure out what the heck is my problem and get it fixed ASAP!
I don't think it could be women in general because there are so many of them out there. Do you have higher expectations for them (being a smart, educated, savvy woman yourself?). Do you understand their "secret language" better than men so you see motivations that you might not see in men? What are the qualities you have liked in bosses? Could be some interesting exercises here.
I magnate toward gay men and women in general. I like the honesty surrounding a person who is "out" and actively being true to themselves. I worked for a gay woman for years and was one of two straight women working for her (out of about 30 employees) so I have excellent gaydar.
